During breakfast, met a lot of new friends from different countries!
Enrique - Spanish, Vicky - Swedish, Nikki - English, Sherry - from
Paris, Wira - Thai, and a handsome Japanese whose name sounds like
"Tobacco"! Wow, it seems like I'm travelling somewhere overseas! Where are
the Malaysian tourists anyway?? All overseas???
Spent a great morning knowing that all of my new friends were so
excited to be in the green heritage of my country! So, proud!! They even
have planned for the next trip to Taman Negara again!
Took a boat to Pengkalan Blau, about 15 minutes away from Park
Headquarters. Went to the Ear Cave - Gua Telinga first. Wow, the entrance
is so narrow. Guess this's how its name comes from. Wasn't brave enough to
crawl into it though. Afraid of bats, frogs, cave racers, guano...
Then, visited the Blau Hide (300m from Pengkalan Blau) and Yong Hide
(900m from Pengkalan Blau). Couldn't see any wildlife in the day. Lucky to
meet Enrique who planned to stay a night at the Yong Hide. Having company,
we took shifts, where he stays awake, while I sleep until my turn to take
over. Sad that I couldn't wake up for my turn.... Enrique said he saw some
small wildlife. But when I asked him about the name of the species, he
gave me some Spanish vocabularies!
